Through our Holiday Giving Program, we also have an Adopt-a-Family sub-program. Each year, generous individuals, groups and organizations fulfill the holiday wishes of 1,200 children served by SCH programs. But recently, we’ve noticed a growing need to further support the entire family. These families often lack the resources to provide for their children during the holidays. So we call on our community to share their kindness and adopt a family in need for the holidays.
This year, we saw 35 groups adopt 43 families!
Most of the adopting groups commented that they wished they could meet the family, drop off gifts personally, or at least see the reaction. Typically, we aren’t able to do that for respect of their privacy. But this year, we were fortunate to be invited to one of the family’s home to capture her children’s reactions on camera!
