BECOME A SUSTAINER
To care for our community’s most vulnerable children, we at the Sacramento Children’s Home rely on support from generous community members like you. When you give a monthly recurring donation, you become a part of the Crisis Nursery Sustainer’s Circle. Every dollar from the Sustainer’s Circle goes directly to the Crisis Nursery, supporting families when they need it most.
“Membership is easy and the monthly donation directly supports a very worthy organization that directly benefits the infants and children at the Nursery. For those of us with busy lives, it is a perfect way to continue our support and keep informed.”
– Andrea W., current Crisis Nursery Sustainer’s Circle member
GIVE SUPPORT KIDS CAN RELY ON
Joining the Sustainer’s Circle is the best way to provide dependable, ongoing funding to end child abuse and neglect and give families a better tomorrow. The Crisis Nursery is one of our highest-needs programs here at the Sacramento Children’s Home. The Crisis Nursery depends on community support to offer free emergency childcare to Sacramento County families 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.
To sustain this vital community resource, we need your help.
WHAT IS THE CRISIS NURSERY?
The Sacramento Children’s Home operates the only Crisis Nursery in Sacramento County. Our mission is to prevent child abuse and neglect by providing support to families in times of crisis. We aim to reduce the number of children entering foster care and keep families together.
Each year, the Crisis Nursery provides:
When a family is facing a crisis, the Crisis Nursery provides each child with a safe place to stay and all the essentials for their stay, including their own bed, clothes, shoes, and diapers. Every day, Nursery staff cooks homemade meals and facilitates age-appropriate learning and playtime activities.
Last year, 99.4% of caregivers reported being better able to work on solving their crisis situations as a result of using the Crisis Nursery.
The Nursery assists these parents and caregivers during times of crisis for issues related to:
- Employment
- Stress and mental health
- Medical needs
- Housing and Homelessness
- Drug and alcohol treatment
- Domestic violence
Supporting the parents supports the kids. Nursery staff provides crisis intervention services, parenting support, and case management for the entire family. Parents are connected with community resources to help them get the help they need to resolve their temporary crisis and build a strong support system for the future.
