Established in 1998, Friends of the Crisis Nurseries is dedicated to the financial security of (and community support for) our Crisis Nursery Program. Its members have volunteered countless hours to ensure a safe haven for infants and children up to age five whose parents/caregivers are experiencing a crisis. Friends of the Crisis Nurseries works to raise funds, increase awareness, and bring new volunteers to the Crisis Nursery Program.
The Friends have two primary functions:
Sustaining the Crisis Nursery Program through:
- Membership dues
- Special events such as the American Girl Fashion Show and Viva L’Auto
Raising public awareness for the Crisis Nursery Program through:
- Publication of the Nursery News
- Community outreach
- Coordination of the Friends speakers bureau
Recognizing that grandmothers have so many gifts to give — time, love, understanding — Friends of the Crisis Nurseries offers a very special category of membership. Twice a year, Gifting Grandmas gather for a fundraising event which typically includes a high profile, themed luncheon. If you want to impact the lives of children in our community, this membership is a great way to do it! To help ensure the financial security of the Crisis Nursery Program, Gifting Grandmas members pledge $200 per year or more, submitted on a schedule determined by each member.
