Community Raises More than $59,000 on Big Day of Giving

The 2018 Big Day of Giving was a massive success, thanks to the Sacramento community. The Sacramento Children’s Home set an ambitious goal of $50,000. On Thursday, May 3, 220 generous donors came together to raise $59,299, exceeding our goal, shattering previous records and making this the biggest and best Big Day of Giving in SCH history!

We asked you to fill the home with love, and you overflowed it.

Contributions on the Big Day of Giving will help us continue to successfully prevent more child abuse and neglect cases in the Sacramento region. With your support, we are able to provide emergency care in times of crisis through our Crisis Nursery Program, shelter and mental health treatment to boys in our Residential Program, and support and services to families through our Family Resource Centers.

Thank you to everyone who donated, everyone who took the time to share our posts, and who encouraged a friend or family member to get involved. We appreciate your support. Here’s more from our Director of Philanthropy, Todd Koolakian:

*We previously stated we raised $58,000, however, a $1,000 donation was made toward the Big Day of Giving on May 4.
