The Sacramento Children’s Home has proudly participated in this year’s Light the World Giving Machine. Located at the Westfield Roseville Galleria and running from November 17th through December 8th, the Giving Machine is an innovative “vending machine” that allows community members to donate tangible items to local charities. This initiative has been a wonderful way to bring meaningful attention to the needs of the vulnerable children and families SCH serves. Supporters can browse and “purchase” items that directly benefit SCH programs—from baby food for new parents to bedding for foster youth in our care.
To kick off the season, SCH joined local leaders and fellow nonprofit partners for a vibrant ribbon-cutting ceremony. SCH CEO David Baker spoke alongside representatives from each participating organization, highlighting the collective impact of the initiative on children and families in the Sacramento area.
SCH volunteers also spent Wednesday greeting visitors, answering questions, and guiding community members through this hands-on giving experience. Their energy and enthusiasm helped make the Giving Machine a warm, welcoming place for all who stopped by.
The initiative will conclude on December 8th, giving the community one final opportunity to participate. Every gift made through the Giving Machine helps strengthen the programs and services that support the children and families we serve, ensuring they feel valued and supported this holiday season.
